Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ offers an annualÌýTimor‑LesteÌýIntercultural ImmersionÌýfor a small group ofÌýYear 11 students, building on aÌýlongÌýstandingÌýpartnership with communities inÌýDili,ÌýBaucauÌýandÌýViquequeÌýthrough theÌýGeelongÌýViquequeÌýFriendship Schools (GVFS)Ìýnetwork. Typically involvingÌýaround eight students, the immersion takes placeÌýmidÌýyearÌýincluding school holidaysÌý(June–July)Ìýfor approximatelyÌý10 days. Students engage deeply with local schools, communityÌýorganisationsÌýand faith communities, gaining insight into the history,ÌýcultureÌýand contemporary realities ofÌýTimor‑Leste. The experience emphasises solidarity, education,ÌýserviceÌýand global citizenship, inviting students to reflect on privilege,ÌýresilienceÌýand social justiceÌýin light ofÌýthe KildareÌýMinistriesÌývalues. TheÌýapproximate cost is $3,800–$4,200 per student, covering international travel, accommodation, transport,ÌýmealsÌýand program costs.ÌýÌý

Santa Teresa (Ltyentye Apurte) Immersion
Annually dependent on the community – Year 10 students – 7 Days (August)
Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ also offers a highly respectedÌýSanta Teresa ImmersionÌýforÌýYear 10 students, undertaken in partnership with theÌýLtyentyeÌýApurteÌý(Santa Teresa) community,ÌýlocatedÌýapproximatelyÌý80 kmÌýsouthÌýeastÌýof Alice SpringsÌýin the Northern Territory. Each year,Ìýaround eight studentsÌýparticipateÌýin thisÌýoneÌýweekÌýimmersion, usually heldÌýin August. The experience is based on invitation and relationship, offering students the opportunity to learn with and serve alongside the local community through classroom support, community care initiatives, shared cultural learning and spiritual reflection. This immersion isÌýnot a tour, but a deeply respectful entry into community life that nurtures empathy, cultural understanding, reconciliation and personal growth, aligned with Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµâ€™s Catholic identity andÌýKildare MinistriesÌýcharism. TheÌýapproximate cost is $2,600 per student, inclusive of flights, accommodation, transport,ÌýmealsÌýand activities.ÌýÌý

Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ offers aÌýFrenchÌýCultural ImmersionÌýfor students inÌýYears 10, 11 and 12, undertaken in partnership withÌýMarian College AraratÌýand supported byÌýWorldÌýStrides. The program is conductedÌýat the end of Term 1Ìýinto theÌýschool holidaysÌýand typically involvesÌý20–25 studentsÌýtravelling toÌýParis and the Lyons regionÌýfor approximatelyÌý13 days. Designed to promote authentic language use and cultural understanding, the immersion enables students to engageÌýwithÌýFrance’s rich history, artistic traditions, religiousÌýheritageÌýand contemporary culture. Through visits to iconic historical sites, museums, cathedrals and regional communities, students deepen theirÌýintercultural awareness, confidence and independence while developing global perspectives. TheÌýapproximate cost is $6,700–$7,000 per student, inclusive of flights, accommodation, transport, mostÌýmealsÌýand educational programming.ÌýÌý

Indonesia Study Tour

Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ offers anÌýIndonesianÌýStudy TourÌýfor students inÌýYears 10, 11 and 12, delivered in partnership with theÌýAustralian Consortium forÌýIn‑CountryÌýIndonesian Studies (ACICIS). The program is proposed as aÌý10‑day immersion, typically scheduledÌýfor the holidays at the end of Term 1, and involvesÌýapproximately 20 studentsÌýbased inÌýYogyakarta. The tour places language learning at its centre, with studentsÌýparticipatingÌýin structured Indonesian language classes each morning, followed by immersive cultural, educational andÌýcommunityÌýbasedÌýexperiences in the afternoons. By living locally, attending schoolÌývisitsÌýand engaging with Indonesian social,ÌýreligiousÌýand cultural contexts, students develop linguistic confidence, interculturalÌýunderstandingÌýand global awareness. The program supports students to grow in independence,ÌýadaptabilityÌýand empathy. TheÌýanticipatedÌýcost is approximately $5,000 per student, inclusive of airfares, accommodation, transport,ÌýtuitionÌýand program activities.ÌýÌý

Japan Study Tour

Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ offers aÌýJapaneseÌýStudy TourÌýfor students inÌýYears 10 and 11, undertaken in partnership withÌýMarian College AraratÌýand supported by theÌýAustralian Institute of International Understanding (AIIU). The program is planned for theÌýSeptember school holidaysÌýand involvesÌýapproximately 20 studentsÌýtravelling forÌý11 nights / 12 daysÌýthroughÌýTokyo, Kyoto, Miyama,ÌýNaraÌýand Hiroshima. The immersion emphasises intercultural understanding, peace education and experiential learning through school visitsÌýconnected to our Japanese school partnerships, rural farm stays, shared cultural practices and encounters with Japan’s religious traditions and historical sites. Students engage deeply with themes of history,ÌýjusticeÌýand reconciliation, particularly through learning in Hiroshima, while also experiencing everyday Japanese life through homestays and community connection. The program fosters confidence, curiosity and global citizenship, aligned with Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµâ€™s commitment to wonder, compassion,ÌýcourageÌýand hospitality. TheÌýindicative cost is approximately $6,000 per student, covering international travel, accommodation,ÌýtransportÌýand educational experiences.ÌýÌý
