The Student Health Leader develops and manages systems relating to the information, documentation and management for students with identified medical concerns.
Working together with the College Wellbeing Team and Administration Team, the Student Health Leader ensures all processes and procedures are compliant with the health and wellbeing of students.听

First Aid Room
蘑菇视频 has a First Aid room dedicated to students located in the General Office. Students are able to access the First Aid room in the event of sudden illness or accident. All Office Staff hold First Aid Level 2 qualifications and regularly undergo training for CPR, anaphylaxis, asthma, epilepsy听 and diabetes.
In the event that students are too unwell to return to their scheduled classes, a parent or guardian will be contacted to pick up the student. If the student is unable to be picked up, alternate arrangements can be made with the General Office.听
Medications
It is also important to note that only medications that are included in an student action plan. Eg: anaphylaxis management action plan, asthma management action plan or on a medical authority form, can be distributed to the student.
Paracetomol is not given at the main office in accordance with 蘑菇视频’s First Aid Policy. 听

Parents and Ambulance Costs
The school will call 000 as soon as it is aware of an urgent or life-threatening situation and will听attempt听contact with parents/Carers as soon as听practicable. If a student听appears to have听a non-minor injury or medical issue, the school will also听attempt听to contact parents/Carers and will call an ambulance if听deemed听appropriate.听听
Parents/Carers听are responsible for听the prompt payment of all ambulance costs.听听
In some听cases听involving injury, parents may be eligible for reimbursement of part or听all of听the ambulance costs through the school鈥檚 personal accident insurer.听听
When ambulance costs may be reimbursed through insurance听
Reimbursement may be available for:听
- Injuries that occur at school or during school activities.听
- Injuries caused by a non鈥損re-existing medical event, for example heat stroke causing a fall and resulting injury.听
What is not covered听
The personal accident policy does听not听cover:听
- Injuries or ambulance transport related to听pre-existing medical conditions.听
- Medical episodes or illnesses where no injury occurs, including asthma attacks, anaphylaxis, heart-related events, heat stroke without injury, and similar conditions.听
In these circumstances, medical and transport costs听remain听the responsibility of parents/Carers.听
